Y aquí, tal vez, vislumbramos a Dios.

Seed Questions for Reflection

How do you relate to the notion that what returns through our technologies, our languages, our accumulated expressions of religions is a "refracted signature of an underlying generative order", "a reality imperfectly expressed through them all"? Can you share a personal story of a moment when you glimpsed something true about yourself not through solitary reflection but through a kind of mirror you didn't expect and what it felt like to meet yourself that way? What helps you stay open to the possibility that the questions consciousness has been reaching toward through "innumerable religions, philosophies and metaphysical systems" are not inventions to be outgrown but signals of something real that is imperfectly expressed?

I relate to the idea that our religions, philosophies, languages and technologies are different ways of expressing a deeper truth that we may never fully comprehend. I have often discovered things about myself through my interactions with people, particularly when their words or actions have made me pause and reflect. Sometimes, seeing how others perceive us reveals qualities, fears or vulnerabilities that we may not recognise on our own. These moments can be humbling, but also transformative. They remind me that self-discovery is not always a solitary journey. I remain open to different beliefs and perspectives because I believe that beneath our diverse expressions lies a deeper wisdom, something real that humanity has been trying to understand across generations.

Mirror of A Mirror authored by Indy Johari is a fascinating article. Mirror needs to be clear to see things as they are. A clean mirror reflects the reality as it is. Consciousness is my mirror. A clean and clear mirror without any makeup reflects the reality as it is. It is not always easy for me to see my face clearly. I do not want to see a few wrinkles on my face and I do not want other people to see those wrinkles. So I try to cover them up. It's like a hide and seek game. And I do not want to play such a hide and seek game. I want to be myself.
To be oneself is not always easy, It requires courage to be oneself. And that's what I have learned from Mahatma Gandhi. Nelson Mendela, Dalai Lama and other on the path of liberation. I have liberated myself from the self-created bondage and that makes me free and blissful.
Namaste.

A lot of complex and difficult LANGUAGE to express some simple truths. Everything we perceive is an imperfect reflection, distorted not just by our imperfect senses but also by the projections of our mind. What can be done? Why does anything need to be done? We can still choose to act with integrity from our deepest values and highest ideals. We can come to simple conclusions about what those values and ideals ought to be vis-a-vis the thriving of human (including ourselves) and all other life, which in this universe, or at least our planet, is fairly clear. We can develop our self-awareness and confront the fears that would keep us from acting with integrity to those values and ideals, that keep us reacting, rather than choosing. Who cares what "reality" is, if we are unconsciously adding to the suffering of ourselves and others in the world. There's so much we can be and do that does not require complex language and analyses of "reality."

My caring what reality is leads me to seeing reality at least a little more clearly which results in my dealing with this life and our many problems in a more healthy way. I definitely agree that complex language and analyses aren’t required and sometimes even get in the way. I do think our living with integrity, as you say, and our being open and continuing to learn help.

The Interstitionaries/ Interstitium metaphor was my mirror. Something I could never articulate and then others like me started communicating what we all felt was normal. Now so much is being discovered scientifically and more. Most important is how my own being communicates and connects with others around me. Our drum circle with often 3 Centenarians who play for the hour and never tire! So much expansion available to us at all ages.
I believe there is ultimate infinite eternal Being that is the source imperfectly expressed through finite temporary forms. I don't remember a specific moment when I glimpsed something true about myself. I believe I have had many such glimpses, most if not all of them occurring in close relating with others who were a mirror for me to glimpse and meet a bit more of myself. Such glimpses are awesome, are expanding of vision and consciousness, and then I do further reflecting on and metabolizing of my glimpse on my own, and then in further relating with others, and then by myself, and on and on through a recursive process that I think Indy Johar describes. What helps me appreciate the many religions etc as signals of Ultimate Being is my being open enough to heed them, and the satisfaction of getting a glimpse helps me to seek and allow more.

What a beautiful new ServiceSpace refraction… particularly as I’ve been engaged in the AI and Humanity conversation with Beehive Productions. As a poet and often a spoken word artist, I’m curious about what happens when something we have expressed returns to us in another form. I experience this in the generative interviews I share with my scribing colleague, Geisa Paganini De Mio, in Brazil. As we listen, she makes images. Sometimes something appears on the page that I recognize before I have words for it. I meet something of myself through her listening. In our new series, Listening from the Land, we are exploring this between the watersheds of our personal bodies and the particular watersheds of our geographic locations. Voice, image, memory, land… something fluid taking form between us. And then the form invites us to listen again. I still wonder why tears happen more frequently when we feel safe. Perhaps there is something about being received that allows what we ... View full comment

I like what you wrote. I believe all existence is one vast interconnected whole, so recognitions of feelings and sensations arrive and we share much more than we are typically aware of, and occasionally break through our limitations and we are aware of them, and they do affect and probably increase our care for one another and the Earth.
