Live Like The Roar In A Lion's Throat

When expressed, the lion's roar is powerful, heeded, respected, and even feared.  When held in the cave of the lion's throat, there is no roar to be heard.  I'm much more fulfilled when I live like the lion's roar, which means embracing and expressing my real self, rather than keeping me in my cave, unheard and unknown.  When I live like the lion's roar, I explode my flavor into everyting, and I make a difference.  I have done that many times, which is satisfying.  I have also imploded or held me in or toned me down many times which is frustrating and dissatisfying.  What helps me be like the wick in a candle, on fire and alive, is accepting and expressing my self, which sometimes takes courage and usually is rewarding..

Don't stop trying!  No one can roar for you.  It has to come from you.  Do not fear 🦁... you were created with a strong voice and brilliant thoughts to support it!

I love the different metaphors Pavithra has used in this beautiful and thoughtful poem.To me living like a roar in the cave of the lion's throat is finding your own voice and expressing it and living by it. Your voice becomes you in  all walks of life.It means to be true to oneslf. It means finding your own less traveled path and if needed to walk alone. It means following your own bliss. It means finding your original face. As I was growing up I was inpisred by Mahatma Gandhi finding and walking on his path fierecely, undaunted and learning from his long walks. I remember his response to a question asked by a journalist, " Whaht is your life's message?," His answer was, "My life is my message." Finding your own path is not that easy for most of us. I did not go through fierce struggles as there were not many choices for me to select. When I was studying in a college, I started tutoring highschool students to make my both ends meet. I enjoyed tutoring . I loved helping stud... View full comment

What a beautiful passage! It takes fierce courage to live this way. I specially resonate with the statement "Think. Think hard. What shape are you holding and in what container are you held? Those are not questions to be asked or answered lightly." Indeed, its a lifelong quest to ask and answer this question.

Every bit of me would have loved to be just that. I have dreamed of it visualised it but never ever got to being "a  roar........throat". Have not even succeeded in being a 'meawo'  in a cat's throat. May be my last breath will leave me in a roar......though I have lived a kitty's life I shall die a lion. " In death she was courages" shall read my epitaph.
