How do you relate to the notion that only on the canvas of the human ego is drawn the artistic masterpiece of the universe? Can you share a personal story of a time you felt limitlessness exploring itself within your human limits? How does your limitlessness express itself on the artistic canvas of your humanity?

Pure anthropomorphic idolatry. Anyone hearing a songbird in full throat or witnessing an animal gazing thoughtfully at a sunrise understands that the universe is repainting its majesty and beauty in every moment. Humanity is a color, a brush stroke on this canvas, neither creator nor sole observer.

My time here on earth is the only limiting, and yet unknown fact. If I approach each day as a gift, the opportunities to be a better husband, father, grandfather and Christian is limitless. My legacy begins with me, so I must act to create one that far outlives my time here.

Just a comment: We are so often reminded to "Put others first." We're told to remember we "I's" are really a "We." This may be true for the most part, but there really is something beautiful about "I," for I make decisions with every moment of my life. I have made good one and not so good, but I am responsible for dealing with everything important and unimportant in my life. I choose to see the beauty of life and the not so beautiful. I can be happy and I can be sad. I can make sense of things. I can read musings such as yours and be enriched. I can write or note, or just think about writing it. You have made me think about "I" and how I came to be "Me." Thank you!! !

The 'canvas of the human ego' is not expansive enough to draw the artistic masterpiece of the universe. I am surprised by Tagore's use of 'the human ego' to try to capture the wonder of the universe. I assume by the 'I' of the human ego he is attempting to embody the 'I' of the Atman and make it personal. For me, any attempt to validate the human ego is fraught. For me, it's all about transcending 'me-ness'. Letting the little 'i' ego go and opening to Oneness through receiving the Breath of The One.

Consciousness is without boundaries. It is like a clear sky with no egotistic clouds. It is "I" with no egotistic boundaries. It is defined as Brahman. When my consciousness is not bound by myself-created boundaries, I become the "Iness", free from my self-created boundaries. It is unbound, limitless, free, ever shining light.
A long time ago, we were on a pilgrimage to Amarnath located on one of the tops of the Himalayas. The sun was setting with no clouds in the sky. The air was pure with no pollution. There was total silence. There were no clouds of thoughts in our minds. We became one with existence, the divine existence without human made boundaries. I will never forget the Divine Presence.
My daily practice of Meditation and Mindfulness have been very helpful to me. It keeps me awake from my self-created sleep. May we keep that inner light shining and walk on the path of Oneness and Awakening!
Namaste!

I believe the human ego is the out front vehicle and canvas, and the masterpiece of the universe is humanly seen and displayed through and on that. There are times when I am aware of Limitlessness that is way beyond my human limits, Limitlessness apparently exploring a very limited human consciousness and view of itself. That limited consciousness and view through which Limitlessness expresses and explores itself is human me. I get to create and behold through my limited senses and consciousness my version of the artistic limitless masterpiece, and even that limited view is a wonder to behold.

We see the universe and make it manifest itself. I wonder, what my dog thinks of the universe and how dolphins feel and sense it. Is it all our mental projection?

I believe our universe is a homo sapiens universe as perceived and created through our senses, neurology and conditioning.

What would the universe be if we were not here to see, feel and sense it? Everything and everyone will be the same but will the universe be there?

My view: If we people were not here, the universe would not be here as we see it. We see a homo sapiens universe. Everything and everyone will not be the same if we didn't exist. We affect it. It is what it is because of us, and we are what we are because of it. Our universe is a totally interconnected and interaffecting universe. We are part of it.
