Recupera tu pollo
--por Jon Bernie

Ser no requiere pensamiento. Estate completamente atent@, suavemente atent@. No haga ningún esfuerzo.

Being does not require thought. Be fully attentive, gently attentive. Trust the natural ease of awareness. Make no effort. No trying, no doing, no defensiveness. Just gazing and seeing without resistance.....Isn't it how we were when just born and of course few years after that and then we started loosing ourselves in the world of thoughts, emotions, sensations & actions...That natural state of being is just there in the background, because that is part of us and will be with us as long as we are in the body...We necessarily not to be in either our natural state (when we were born) or in our current state (state of adulthood as I may call it)...we can lead our life with both natural& adulthood state can co-exist supporting each other. I have figured out the way that works...by what I call practicing spiritual mental hygiene routine ..just the way we follow physical hygiene routines daily...Trust it works!

I like your statement. What I like to be into is as much natural state as I can get away with and as little world state as I can get away with. Peace

I tried adding a reflection with some links included. It was flagged as spam. Frustrating, as I think the links quite relevant. Ah well. Here's another try. Nic Askew uses similar language when he talks about how he sits with people to produce his "Soul Biographies" films. Nic's language is similar to that used by Hareesh Wallis to talk about Pratibhā. I've gathered some of his words in the post "Pratibha" on my systalk.org site. It is related to the "still small voice" that gets drowned out by the ego's shouting and pushing. It's quite unsettling to the ego that it might not be necessary after all.

There have been times when pursuit of my "chicken" stopped and I was in a realm of whatever is happening is before me. It was a very lucid awareness while on very happy magic mushrooms. Truly magical things happened without any effort on my part at all.

Lovely reflection. I find a rational scientific understanding leads me to harmony with imperfection - imperfection is a moral judgement, but nature is finely tuned, honed in to an unimaginable degree to produce things like eyeballs and brains and complex cultures and ecosystems. Literally everything in nature is there for a reason, the product of billions of years of adaptation. If i were given the option of eliminating anything in our world l’m not sure I would. Because all that we label good is in complex ways dependent on all that we label bad. Consciousness comes often through suffering. Pain and fear protect us. Viruses allow us to exchange DNA with animals - a key source of mutation. I’m not saying the world is perfect, and I’m a passionate campaigner to make it better. But it’s with the humility that the way it is has been shaped by a far greater intelligence, and only when I feel connected to that do trust my urges to make change.

I went to an Ashram called Anuttara in British Colombia, Canada. I got off the grid and out of my mind in the majestic splendor of the natural world.

Reclaiming your chicken means to me less focus on head activities like thinking, planning, worrying, expecting, and judging, and more focus on body including what I am experiencing, feeling, and sensing. I've experienced peace. I'm sure my experiencing of peace involves my nervous system and may be throughout my whole nervous system but I don't experience peace throughout my whole nervous system, at least I'm aware of it as such -- I just experience peace. What helps me feel harmony in any situation is to live in harmony, that is, to live with my behavior, my thinking, and my feeling to be in harmony. In those times I've got my stuff together, I'm in sync.

Beautiful passage! Growing up in duality, I see myself as separate from others, and see Spiritual or Divine as separate from myself (though perhaps as an admirable path, dream or goal). With awake eyes it become clear the separation IS the dream state, and as long as we are alive, the head was never actually separate from the body (as much as it may have seemed that way). There is an infinitely deep peace in experiencing Life this way, letting go of the endless chase of the chicken for the head, and visa-versa: the illusion of separation was only in each part thinking it had lost the other. But how to help what looks like bleeding chaos "out there"? Can we awaken when we are tired of sleeping?

Dreams have no actual existence other than in the memory of the sleeper, but greed, hatred, and delusion are expressions of the dream of separation which DO affect those other dreams around us. Infinite Divine, and unconditional loving-kindness beckon from the waking realm, which includes all limited dreams without being lost in any of them.

Who is running your life chiken or you? Are you like a chiken running around with your head cut off or you are a head running around with your chicken cut off? Who runs your life? Does your desire run your life or your thinking clear mind runs your life? From my own experience whan I let my desire run my life I get into trouble. This is the way I relate to the metaphor of chicken and head. My nervous system gets disturbed when my desire, intention and action are not in harmony or in sink with my thinking. I do not like this tug of war within myself. Life teaches us lesson if we are aware and open to see when I get off the track. I know I am not perfect. I have learned not to get imprisoned by my unrealisic desire and that way suffer. Since I am not fighting with my own self I feel more free and do the best I can. I do not want to be my own enemy. I want to be my friend and live in harmony, in accord with my desire, intellect and actions. Self-examination and following the inner ... View full comment
