Seed Questions for Reflection

How do you relate to the notion of being weavers woven into and from an ancient ever-renewing fabric? Can you share a personal story of a time you became aware of your part in leaving a foundation for those who will weave the fabric of tomorrow? What helps you develop gratitude for both the foundation you were given and the opportunity to leave a foundation for the next generation?

I've always loved this concept, especially with regard to creation and ideas. Ralph Waldo Emerson compared society to a wave, stating that while the water does not move on, the wave does. By thinking of all of humanity throughout all of time being connected by this mission of weaving a narrative, we become more united. There may be no original ideas, but inspiration and interconnection are more important than originality, and it is from others that we find these elements.

He is the weaver
He has made the yarn
He has dyed the yarn
He has made the design
i only see the fabric
i only experience it
i have no control over the past
i have no control over the future
i only do my karma
i only do my duty
i have nothing to complain
i have nothing to expect
after this fabric wornsout
i take shape of new fabric
as per His will
and the cycle continues
till i attain salvation......

I believe all creation is one ever-renewing fabric beginning at least `13.8 billion years ago and continuing indefinitely, and we come from and are part of and contribute to that fabric. For me, there was a progression and evolution over the years of my becoming aware that all creation is one fabric that I contribute to and leave to the weavers of tomorrow. What helps me develop gratitude is knowing that I and allcreation could easily not exist and I am grateful for existence. To me, it's all a miracle and I am grateful to be part of it. It helps me to know that in time and space the fabric of creation began millions of generations before me and will likely continue for many generations after me, and I am grateful to be part of the process. Also, the fabric is different because of my contribution, and I am grateful that I make a difference.

We all are weavers weaving the tapestry or fabricof our life. How much aware we are when we weave our own fabric? If we weave our fabric with weak threads, our selfish and self-centered, fearful and angry threads thatharm others, we also harm ourselves. We all are connected with each other. I rememberthe wise saying, " As is within so without." We are children of the past and architect of the present and future. How we live in the present shapes our future and the future of the upcoming generations. This is the way I relate to the notion of being woven into and from an ancient ever-renewing fabric. There are moments of awakening if I do not keep on sleeping. I remember Albert Einstein's wise saying, "No problem can be solved from the same consciousness that created it. We must learn to see the world anew." Such wise sayings have been very helpful to me for making a shift in my consciousness. What and how I do has an impact not only on the present but also on th... Yes, I am only one thread among more threads than I can see or count. We each add our special design, our little twist. The irony is we cannot be unique without attaching to all the threads around us. Each of us contributes to the tapestry wrapping around others, none of us knowing the full design. My job is to simply be the best thread I can be, connecting to all around, before and after to fill what holes and gaps I can.
