I was one of the enormously fortunate folks who hung out with Izzie on Friday nights in the Sixties. I never learned a lick of astrology from her but she provided to-the-bank answers to the Four Great Questions that I had always yearned to understand but had never had anyone come close to grips with: "What am I?" "Where do I come from?" "Where am I going" "What's it all about?". I think it's fair to say that I was kind of the teacher's pet; at least she made me feel that way. A couple of times I got her together with my great aunt Fanny Bowditch Katz, who was under Jung's care from 1913 to 1918 and must have been one of his (actually Maria Molzer's) greatest successes; she was wonderful. It goes without saying that being a fly on the wall with both of them was memorable ("Why, of course, my dear! Of course!"). There are no words to adequately express how important Izzie was in my life. I see her smiling.
