My experience thus far in my 7th decade is that prayer and meditation has urged me to go deeper and the presence of prayer has imprinted in my awareness so that I am more aware of the presence of the divine in everything and fullest ALL things. It allows me to be aware of good intent or action. To see the light in others and the oneness of all is prayer without ceasing.

As a former hospice chaplain, I was surprised and curious why so many people are afraid of death. I wonder if because we have little refection into ourselves and we live this span between birth and death completely identified with our bodies and personhood which is an illusion. With self reflection/inquiry the veil of our divisions lift and we began to see our oneness. The more we turn our eyes inward, perhaps"the river of silence" will help us, as was stated, to flow peacefullytowards that end point we call death.

I grew up in a Christian home and throughout my adult life have tried on different faiths within Christianity. It wasn't til I step back from traditional, institutionalChristianity and opened my mind and my awareness to study Hindu, Muslin, Kabbalah ( mystical Judaism) that I saw Christianity in a new light. I incorporate many beautiful prayers and practices from each of these religions which has made for me now a very rich, moving, and spiritual life.
