"Touch your inner space, which is nothingness, as silent and empty as the sky; it is your inner sky. Once you settle down in your inner sky, you have come home, and a great maturity arises in your actions, in your behavior. Then whatever you do has grace in it. Then whatever you do is a poetry in itself. You live poetry; your walking becomes dancing, your silence becomes music." --Osho
Message From Host:
We meet to share the complicity of silence, the gentle light of a new reading and the gratitude of a shared meal.
If it is the first time, you are participating find bellow a little explanation about the objectives and background of the Awaking Circles.
About fifteen years ago, three people decided to sit in silence for an hour, in a Silicon Valley living room. No teachers or gurus. No set agendas or proposed beliefs either — just one strong principle -- when you change within, the world changes. And instead of closing the door, they left it open, open to all. The rest, as they say, is history.
Inspired by Awakin Circle and the spirit of community, we will sit in silence for an hour, do a circle of sharing and have a home-cooked vegetarian meal together.
No agenda, no cost. Just like-minded people connecting and sharing space. Feel free to contact me for more info, for those who confirm attendance. I will share more details about the address.
This evening will be about sharing. A typical evening flows like this :
|19:30PM||An hour of collective silence; it's unguided, without any instructions or music. (Try to arrive 5 minutes before)|
|20:30PM||A short reading followed by a circle of sharing of "aha" moments from everyday life.|
|21:30PM||A shared meal (everyone brings something).|
Every week, our Awakin Circles gathers together to connect more deeply with ourselves and with one another. We deepen in friendship and community, inner work and contemplation, and skillful service and external action. We draw inspiration from all of the world’s wisdom traditions – spiritual, indigenous, faith as well as secular.
These gatherings have no set agendas, no teachers or proposed beliefs -- they are simply a space to come together to listen to ourselves and to one another. There is no cost to attend; it is a simple offering in the spirit of co-creating a space for deeper wisdom to emerge, in silence and in community with others. These circles have spread organically around the world through word-of-mouth. They are fluid, and so whoever shows up each time creates the right group.

7:00PM Collective silence for an hour. It is unguided, without any instructions or music. For first-timers, this primer on meditation may be helpful.
8:00PM A short reading (sent out earlier via email), followed by a circle of sharing of "aha" moments from everyday life.
8:30PM A home-cooked vegetarian meal, offered in silence, followed by informal interaction.
There is no cost to attend, nor any solicitations; everything is offered as a humble gift and people organically "pay it forward" to the world in their own ways.
What's the flow? We start with an hour of meditation; that is followed by a circle of sharing, and then a meal in silence.
How many people attend? Serendipity typically brings together 10-30 diverse folks.
I'm not local! You can join another location or perhaps even start your own!
We are profoundly grateful that our paths have crossed in this sacred way. Please do get in touch if you have any questions. We look forward to growing in stillness and service, together.
