Nipun: Thank you, Cynthia. I am delighted to have our guest speaker here with us, Roland McCready. I should say Dr. Roland McCready.

He's the Director of Research at HeartMath Institute, where he has been since its founding in 1991. That's a long time. I looked him up on Google Scholar, and it said he has over 21,000 citations for all his scholarly work. With a very high H index, is what I'm told.

His H index number is so high that it places him in the top 2% of the scientists, a very influential group. But what's even more awesome, in my eyes, is not just that his scientific work has taken off, but also the kind of scientific work he has done, which is really all about the heart, how emotions influence our bodies, our brains, and our connection to each other, and the planet. So he pioneered heart rate variability, HRV. So he is the man that has now spawned off what is now a $4 billion industry.

The Apple Watch, and the Oura Ring, and you can go down the list. The heart rate variability they measured is all pioneered by Roland's incredible work over decades. Now, he, of course, could have taken that corporate route. In fact, decades ago, he was at a company, he was an engineer, but he left all that, and he says, I want to make a difference in the world.

And he's been doing this kind of work for a very long time. He met the founder of HeartMath, Doc Childre, at a party, and he expected to stay an hour, and as he says, I left three days later. So it is a delight and an honor to have Roland with us.
