I love how you extend the metaphor to inner rocks; I find myself doing this all the time! And hoping that this new meditation practice, or that mindfulness habit will finally bring me equanimity. But it's all just rock-juggling in disguise :-D I need to build the space to just to watch and be alongside.
This is so powerful. And it's left me curious about how this is held in balance with the need to take decisions to remove someone from a situation, or to remove oneself from a situation, because of a lack of safety or similar. How do we balance the practicalities and needs of a group and a team, with a deep compassion and acknowledgement of the wholeness of each individual and each situation.
I'm tussling with this at work right now - and whilst I have compassion and empathy (maybe not as much as I would hope to have) with some of the folks in question, it's making it harder for me to make some important decisions. Would love any wisdom on this from others who've walked this path.
This one felt painfully timely. I'm struggling through a bunch of challenges in a team, and I can feel myself responding from defaults, and also leaning on the story of conditioning and social context. And that story is true. Many of us are operating from programming at such subconscious layers that we can't access it. Or tweak it easily.
And yet. There is a need to push beyond this. To move to a new level. To understand that even if things are deeply predetermined, at an atomic, cellular, or universal level, the act of creating agency changes our relationship to the world, and to how we feel about our presence.
