This is so true! Each one of us is connected to the micro root of the soil in myriad ways only if we reflect, assess and feel gratitude to every breath that connects us: all creatures, all the creepers, trees, bushes, moths, butterflies, insects, animals.
Urban lifestyle has made the real world too opaque to respect the beauty of resources unless, by default, when he falls into it- encounters it..Decorative balcony, visit to hilly station for the heck of it, is not respect...The only beautiful world is in danger. You may notice patches of the natural world at places, rural retreats- if they are living in a traditional/ natural ways.
I remember having a beautiful experience of a remote village area that I passed by. A huge bush near a local pond full of fireflies. It was dusk time, and the visual was a treat to the eyes and mind; to stop and watch the celestial sphere in nature: unseen, unheard but felt by all around. So are the hidden gifs of nature graciously evident if left free!! We need to go back to basics and develop eyes and heart to respect, maintain and recreate that charm.
Let Nature dominate lovingly, liberally over human greed of consumerism, pretence:No further smart cities but smart natural livelihood n living. From fabric to food, slipper to cosmetics - in every possible way.
So beautifully conveyed... Grace is the basis of 'comfort- conversations'. Dignity of individual learner can't rest, just, on number game. Sense of pride and achievement need to be associated with values and strength of character.
One of my students was unable to cope with the subjects. His sincerity and hardwork would make me sad at times.
I would leave no situation to encourage and convince him ' how valuable human being he was.' With time, we developed good understanding. I helped him to dwell deeper and reflect upon the goal of education and upskilling in life.
Fortunately, I could work from scratch with him and the parents too agreed to stand by the child. The student repeated the year and moved on with good grades.
Maturity of thoughts, experiences and dash of encouragement is the essence of growing and learning.
Let all be allowed to grow with grace.
So honest a feeling! Being in awe... to me means being in direct commune with humanity.
A little smile on a baby's face with a little chocolate ice-cream, gives joy as a moment of awe!
I felt it while I was waiting for the food coupon at one of the eatery joints . An old, ragged man was begging for food but was being ignored by passersby. I served him my plate. He pounced on the plate. With full attention and attitude of gratitude ate his food at the extreme end of the shop under the tree.
I liked the approach with which the man sat down on the ground, with no heed to surroundings. I got a good glimpse, from a distance, to see the simplicity of the man. It was a moment of awe !Saving a bird or a kitten from dogs, lending helping hand on the road to a needy stranger, comforting a student in school uniform make me feel the bliss of aweness in the commonality of ordinary life. It's a blessing to feel, share and transform one's own life, in turn, with awe moments!!
