Bonnie - Thank you for the response. How about the word gift as a replacement for privilege in your gardening. Please, I am not arguing just trying sort out this lifetime. I think that for privilege, there must always be something in the universe that does not get the privilege. It's designed to be a comparative word. I'm so glad your story made me see gift as an appropriate word. Here is the line from the wrting, using gift in place of privilege. "I would like to engage in my work with a sense of gift and possibility." How does that feel for you?? Thanks again for sharing. Be Well.
I embrace the "I would like prayer", I want to live my life flowing in that flow. I would also like to read it without reacting to the word privilege. It flares up in me the feelings of hieracrchical living which continues to destroy Earth and all its living things. I want to feel safe with the word privilege. Does anyone else have this reaction? How do I find a different backdrop for privilege?
